Welcome to beta.NFB.ca!

Drum-roll please…

We’re going live this week with the new test site. About 300 NFB films, clips, and trailers will be free for home-viewing to the entire world.

What’s beta?
The word “beta” simply means we’re testing the site. This isn’t the final release, so your opinions will really help us improve the site.

Please stick around and watch some films (here’s a good place to start) and leave your feedback for us with the survey.

This blog is a place for discussion and updates about new films and features on the site. Leave your comments and questions here if they don’t fit in the Survey.

  1. Thanks All!

@Saskboy – We’ll fix the comment box, ASAP. Thanks 🙂

@Paul – I’ll forward your film request to the selection committee. Cheers.

@Jacoby and @Brett – Your requests have been forwarded. Thanks!

    — Matthew Forsythe,
  2. Just helping you test out yoru comment form. The words are too tiny when I type.

  3. Great site! I think the quality of the film clips is much superior to youtube and that’s the main reason I’ll be returning here again and again.

I’d love to see more animated shorts (especially more by Bretislav Pojar) and I think you need to work on the search feature a bit more..I tried searching by Filmmaker’s last names and came up with no results for Pindal or Lamb.

    — Paul Bouchard,
  4. I’m sure there are plans to bring the entire collection online slowly, however, is there anyway to request the inclusion of certain films sooner than others? Namely the supurb doc, “Children of Alcohol”

Great to see how this site is shaping up.
    Keep up the great work,
    Jacoby

    — Jacoby,
  5. Great work! Films look fantastic at “extreme” speed and I’m subscribed to the RSS feed – cant wait until “New Alchemists” gets digitized!!
