The Strangest Dream screens at the UN

The Strangest Dream, a documentary about Joseph Rotblat and his efforts to halt nuclear proliferation, will be shown for the first time in New York at the UN today on the occasion of the opening day of the Third Session of the Preparatory Committee for the 2010 NPT (Non-proliferation Treaty) Review Conference.

The film is being screened for an audience of NGOs from over 60 organizations and representatives from 192 member states.

“This screening is an event that raises real and important issues for our future, and we were pleased to be given the opportunity to collaborate with Pugwash and the UN Office for Disarmament Affairs,” said Tom Perlmutter, Government Film Commissioner and Chairperson of the NFB.

Featuring interviews with contemporaries of Joseph Rotblat and members of the Pugwash movement, The Strangest Dream is a detailed and insightful portrait of the nuclear physicist and of the times and circumstances that shaped his ideas.
