He’s really tapped into his community and knows how to keep them invested until his next project.

Cinematech by Scott Kirshner
Though Scott’s not a filmmaker, Scott is probably the most authoratative voice in technology, cinema and digital distribution. If you’re interested in the future of cinema, you should read this blog. Also check out his Google talk, Inventing the Movies, where he tracks the history of progress and change in the cinema industry.

Brave New Films by Robert Greenwald
Greenwald (Outfoxed, Walmart) has always been a master at harnessing the power of online communities to spread the word about his films. Brave New Films is a blog for the production company, but focuses on social change and filmmaking. They also use YouTube to create short viral clips and trailers that drive further interest in their productions.

(This one is an NFB co-production) Brett’s film is about how the internet has transformed copyright and creativity and he is really engaged and active online. His blog gets a tremendous amount of traffic and interest from the film industry and beyond.

The Spine Blog by Chris Landreth
(This is another NFB blog but it’s already a great blog). Chris Landreth – the Oscar-winning animator of Ryan - uses the blog as more than a promotional tool for his film – he tells jokes, he talks about challenges of animation, other films he loves - and all in a very honest and conversational manner.
