Martin Luther King Day

The following is a guest post by Aisling Chin-Yee.

January 18 honours Martin Luther King Jr, a man who spent his life inspiring people to unite for civil justice. This day is recognized by the United States of America, also by the mayor in Hiroshima, Tadatoshi Akiba and the people of the world to remember King’s message of non-violence and human rights.

King was assassinated the day after this powerful speech (seen in video above). He has become an icon for human rights and peaceful demonstration.
