Welcome to the National Film Board of Canada’s blog. We’re dedicated to blogging about Canadian and global documentary, animation, and interactive media projects and communities. Here you’ll find posts on films and media, including our new releases and historical archives, as well as behind-the-scenes info on the art of media-making. We’re constantly trying to watch as many of the NFB’s 13,000+ films as possible and we aim to tell you all about the best and brightest among the crop!

We welcome your participation and feedback, either in the “Comments” sections of our posts, or via email  to our blogger Carolyne Weldon at c.weldon@nfb.ca. If you have suggestions or ideas for posts, perhaps about topics or films you’re interested in knowing about, we want to hear it.

The National Film Board is Canada’s public producer and distributor of films. Since its founding in 1939, the NFB has created over 13,000 productions and won over 5,000 awards, including 6 Webbys, 12 Oscars and more than 90 Genies. You can watch thousands of our films for free online at NFB.ca. To learn more about the NFB’s history and mandate, head over here.
