Runaway wins audience prize at International Critics’ Week in Cannes

Cordell Barker’s animated short, Runaway, won the Petit Rail d’Or for Best Short Film at the International Critics’ Week in Cannes. The award is presented each year by a group of cinephile railwaymen in attendance at the festival and is a testament to audience appreciation. The film played to full houses.

Runaway is the latest offering from the man who brought us The Cat Came Back and Strange Invaders. Set to music by Benoît Charest (The Triplets of Belleville), the film aims to answer the question: What would happen if the world were a driverless train thundering recklessly over bumpy tracks?
