Welcome to the March NFB Education PD Session!
A PD session (professional development session) is a learning opportunity open to all Canadian teachers. They will be presented as a YouTube webinar with a live Q&A discussion in the chat. Come prepared to ask questions and share your comments. Each session will highlight an educational theme alongside NFB film(s) and resource(s).
In March, mark International Women’s Day with an esteemed presenter who will share their experiences using the film, Status Quo? The Unfinished Business of Feminism in Canada.
Presenter
Christina Ganev is a Hybrid Teacher-Coach of History with 16 years of experience in the Toronto District School Board. She has taught a range of Social Sciences, Humanities and English courses at the secondary level. She is most interested in anti-oppression and anti-racist teaching resources, approaches and practices.

Feminism has shaped the society we live in. But just how far has it brought us, and how relevant is it today? This feature documentary zeroes in on key concerns such as violence against women, access to abortion, and universal childcare, asking how much progress we have truly made on these issues.
Guiding Question: What progress has Canada achieved in addressing the objectives of feminism if defined as political, social, and economic equality?
