Alanis Obomsawin Box Set Giveaway
In honour of Alanis Obomsawin’s Outstanding Achievement Award Retrospective at the 2009 Hot Docs festival tonight, we’re giving away two box sets of her seminal work on the Oka Crisis in Quebec.
Alanis Obomsawin – The Collection: 270 Years of Resistance includes 3 DVDs with 4 digitally-remastered films made between 1993 and 2000: Kanehsatake: 270 Years of Resistance, My Name is Kahentiiosta, Spudwrench Kahnawake Man and Rocks at Whiskey Trench, along with a 100-page booklet of essays and background information.

What an amazing lady. She is such an inspiration to me. A legacy of humanity shared by her artist gifts. I had the opportunity to meet her on Victoria Island. A friend introduced me to her because I am a photographer interested in various causes. I have since viewed several of her films and I am humbled to have met such an extraordinary artist. Richard Cardinal doc made me cry.
